The PHP provides a range of direct services to our clients - physicians, residents, medical students, veterinarians and pharmacists and supportive services to family members of our clients.  The PHP clinical staff provide information and advice to individuals regarding the program services offered or resources that may be available to address a wide range of problems experienced by physicians, veterinarians, pharmacists and members of their families.

The PHP is accountable for its management of monitored participants as guided by policy.  The majority of the participants are known to their regulatory colleges, and routine reporting on their progress along with timely "as required" reports are provided to those colleges.

When a participant is NOT known to their college, confidentiality is maintained unless certain reporting conditions, again defined by policy and agreed to by the monitored participant through a signed contract, are met.

Further, PHP policy has created a Clinical Advisory Panel (CAP) that periodically reviews challenging cases (on a non-nominal basis), as well as those cases where participants unknown to their regulatory college have relapsed.  This CAP provides advice to the Director and PHP clinical staff about the management of these cases.
