As licensed pharmacy students/interns, registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP), pharmacy students/interns are eligible for PHP services including case management, advocacy and monitoring for substance use and/or psychiatric disorders.
In 2005, in an effort to increase the availability of support and advocacy services for pharmacists who may be experiencing life or work related stressors, the College collaborated with the Ontario Pharmacists' Association (OPA) and the PHP to bring a broader range of services to pharmacists and pharmacy students seeking help. The College believes that by making these services available to all pharmacists, and by assuring confidentiality of the PHP, more pharmacists will access needed care and assistance, thus reducing the risk of harm to themselves and to the public.
